(depending on how your system is set-up)

Doing this will open your accounts/services list.

How does POP3 E-mail work?

It all started when an e-mail message (basically just a piece of text) gets sent from your account.

The e-mail is sent (uploaded) to your ISP/outgoing mail server, this is usually the company that connects you to the web.

Your outgoing mail server then redirects it towards its target across the web. When it eventually arrives at the recipients mail server it is stored until that user comes online and downloads their mail.

They connect to the Internet through their ISP, then connect to their incoming mail server which sends it to the recipient.
