Editing a POP3 mail in Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express
Having selected the account and clicked edit, a new properties window should have appeared...
The properties window has 4 'tabs' accross the top. Each tab is explained on this page;
General tab
The first box (where we have written JJ Shaw) is simply so that you can identify the account. Choose a name that will help you to know which account is which.
When you send E-mails, the remaining information on this tab (name, organisation, E-mail address and Reply address) is the information the recipient will see and does not effect the transmission of the E-mail.

Servers Tab
This tab determines where your E-mails will be retrieved from (incoming mail server), and which server will send your E-mails (outgoing mail server).
The incoming mail server (POP3) will be the Trade Internet mail server which is called 'mail.tradeinternet.co.uk'.
The outgoing mail server (SMTP) should be provided by your ISP.
The company you use to connect to the internet (such as btinternet or Telewest) should provide an SMTP mail server for you to use.

Connection tab
Select the first option if you part of a network that is premanently connected to the internet.
Select the second option if you connect to the internet using a modem. You will then need to select the ISP you wish to use from the drop down menu below.
Select the third option if you dial up manually to the internet.
